  1. What is Verizon Messages (Message+)?

    Verizon Messages (Message+) provides an enhanced texting experience. With Verizon Messages (Message+), you can:

    • Use Yahoo!® Media Search to search the web for images, gifs and videos
    • Use Driving mode to send an auto-reply, so others know you’re driving
    • Use Yelp from within the app to find your favorite restaurant and share the location's info

  2. How much does Verizon Messages (Message+) cost?

    There's no charge to download the Verizon Messages (Message+) app from the app store on your device or computer,* and there's no recurring subscription fee to have the Integrated Messaging service. Learn how to download Verizon Messages (Message+) onto your device.

    Messages you send and receive with Verizon Messages (Message+) over the Verizon network or a Wi-Fi network will count towards your smartphone's messaging plan. Los mensajes sincronizados hacia y desde un tablet a través de una red Wi-Fi no incurrirán en cargos por data.

  5. Will I incur data charges when I use Verizon Messages (Message+)?

    Verizon's Message+ app adds many features, some of which require data usage. Your download and use of the Service will be billed according to your messaging and data plans with Verizon or your wireless provider.

    For Verizon customers, sending and receiving of SMS, MMS, Chat (text, images, audio, video under 5 MB, read receipts, delivery receipts, and typing indicator) will not count against your data allowance. Sending and receiving of SMS and MMS messages will be billed at messaging rates. Use of features including the following will count against your data allowance (unless you are using Wi-Fi): Sending and receiving videos over 5 MB; Glympse messages; Yahoo search; Places by Yelp; Gifting; Image preview; voice calls on linked secondary devices using Integrated Calling (such as your watch or tablet); Kanvas images/editing, administrative features including (auto-reply, muted/unmuted conversations, Scheduled Messages, updating group details, and public profile updates). Verizon customers roaming on another network when accessing the Service will be billed according to your messaging and data plans with Verizon.

    For non-Verizon customers, you will be billed under your own provider's messaging (SMS/MMS) and data plans for applicable cellular delivery and media download.

    All customers are billed at data rates for the sending and receiving videos 5 MB and larger (unless you are on Wi-Fi), according to your messaging and data plans with Verizon or your wireless provider. For full functionality, turn on your data or use Wi-Fi.



  6. What devices are compatible with Verizon Messages (Message+)?

    Verizon Messages (Message+) is compatible with:

    • Mobile devices running:
      • Android 4.2 and newer
      • iOS 7 and newer
    • Computers* running:

    Public profiles let all Verizon Messages (Message+) users, including those who aren't in your contacts, see your name and avatar. You can edit, delete or bypass the public profile feature at any time by going to your sidebar menu.



Features of Verizon Messages (Message+)
  1. How does Group Messages work on Verizon Messages (Message+)?

    Group messages let you add or remove members, assign administrators within the group, add avatar and background, and more. A group can have up to 250 participants.

    You can create a group message by tapping the Pencil icon or using the upper-right dropdown menu.

    Creating a new group lets you customize the conversation for that group with a unique background, avatar and name. You can also make this your default setting for all group messages by updating your Group Conversations settings.



  2. What is Driving Mode in Verizon Messages (Message+)?

    When Driving Mode is turned on, the Verizon Messages (Message+) app will turn off incoming audio and pop-up message notifications and send an auto-reply message, saying that you're driving and you’ll reply later.

    Verizon Messages (Message+) now integrates with Yelp, so you can quickly plan with your friends where and when to meet up.

    Find a Yelp location and then share the hours of operation and directions all through the Verizon Messages (Message+) Yelp feature. It also estimates the time of arrival for both parties.

    Kanvas lets you create personalized pictures, videos and GIFs by adding text, doodles or stickers.



  7. Can I schedule messages to be sent at a later date with Verizon Messages (Message+)?

    In the Group Conversations section in settings, you'll find a "Use MMS to start a group conversation" box. Checking or unchecking this box will change how you start a group conversation:

    • With this box unchecked - Any time you send a message to multiple contacts, you'll be prompted to create a new enhanced group that includes everyone in the To field. You'll then be able to name the group, edit the group participant list, and customize the group with a unique background and avatar.

    • With this box checked - You won't be prompted to create and name the group when you send a message to multiple contacts. It will be sent as a traditional multimedia message. If you want to create an enhanced group that you can customize, you'd need to create the group first, then send a message to the group.


  7. Can I customize a specific Group Conversation?

    Yes, you can personalize conversations of a specific group with a unique name, avatar and background.



  8. Does Verizon Messages (Message+) replace the native texting app on my phone, or can I switch between apps?

    Verizon Messages (Message+) is the default Messaging app on many Android devices. On some devices it doesn't replace the native texting app on your phone. You can switch between the native texting app on your phone and Verizon Messages (Message+). Los mensajes enviados o recibidos en una aplicación aparecerán en la otra aplicación.

Syncing Messages Across Devices
  1. How is Integrated Messaging different from the Verizon Messages (Message+) app?

    Integrated Messaging is a service that works with Verizon Messages (Message+) to let you send and receive text and multimedia messages seamlessly on your smartphone, tablet, computer or the web using your Verizon mobile number. However, certain features will use data according to your data plan.

    If you haven't subscribed to a messaging plan, you'll be charged standard "pay as you go" rates for text messages and multimedia messages.

    If you're on a business account with a text-only plan, you'll be billed for multimedia messages at standard rates.

  2. When using Verizon Messages (Message+), how do I know what kind of message I'll be billed for?

    When using Verizon Messages (Message+) outside of the US, Global Data charges will apply.

    Note: If you have a plan with a carrier other than Verizon, the download and use of Verizon Messages (Message+) will be billed according to your messaging and data plans.

     



  5. Can I use Verizon Messages (Message+) while I'm in another country and what charges will apply?

    Yes, you can use Verizon Messages (Message+) while in another country using Wi-Fi, mobile data or a roaming network. Verizon Messages (Message+) 5.0 and later will prefer Wi-Fi when roaming and then mobile data if Wi-Fi is unavailable.     You can send an eGift card from Verizon Messages (Message+) to any US mobile phone that is able to receive picture and video messages. Simply attach an eGift card to a message and a formatted eGift card will be delivered to the recipient by multimedia message.

    The recipient can use the bar code in the store, or add the value of the eGift card to an existing gift card or to the company's mobile app.



  2. Which brands' gift cards are available in Verizon Messages (Message+)?

    We offer gift cards from multiple merchants through the Verizon Messages (Message+) app, and the list keeps growing. To see which gift cards are available, tap the eGift icon in the Verizon Messages (Message+) app and scroll to see the available gift cards.



  3. How do I transfer an eGift card to another gift card or to a company's mobile app such as Starbucks, Amazon, etc.?

    You can transfer the balance of the eGift card by copying the card number and PIN provided with the eGift card to any existing card app. This can be done online, within the app, or at most merchant's locations.



  4. How do I pay for eGifts in Verizon Messages (Message+)?

    You can purchase eGifts in Verizon Messages (Message+) with a credit card or by charging it to your Verizon account. Paying with a credit card offers more flexibility because you aren't limited to spending $100/month. Orders you charge to your Verizon account will appear on your next month's bill*.

  6. How much can I spend on eGift?

    This depends on which payment method you use.

    • Credit Card: The spending limits may vary depending on the eGift you're ordering or on other factors. There's no limit to the number of credit cards you can add to your account but this activity is monitored to prevent fraud.

    • Charge to Verizon Account: Each line on your account can spend a maximum of $100/month.


  7. Why do I need to create a PIN when I add a new credit card and save it for future purchases in Verizon Messages (Message+)?

    The PIN is used to protect your account from unauthorized purchases. Because you don't need to enter your card info when you use a saved card, we need some way to verify your identity. By entering your PIN, we know it's you buying the eGift.
     
    Note: If you enter an incorrect credit card PIN 5 times, your account will be locked and you'll need to reset your PIN. Learn how to reset your PIN.



  8. Can I change my eGift credit card PIN in Verizon Messages (Message+)?

    In order to change your PIN you'll need to know your current PIN. If you've forgotten your PIN refer to the FAQ below.



  9. What do I do if I forget my eGift credit card PIN?

    If you forget your credit card PIN, you won't be able to send eGifts using a saved credit card. You'll need to remove all of your saved credit cards and then re-add them. You'll be able to create a new PIN when you re-add your credit card.

  10. What do I do if I'm locked out from accessing my saved eGift credit cards?

    If you enter an incorrect PIN 5 times, you'll be locked out from accessing your saved credit cards, and you'll need to reset your PIN.

  11. What do I do if the eGift is deleted by the person I sent it to?

    You can resend the same eGift card to the person if they accidentally delete theirs.

    To resend an eGift:

    1. Open the message conversation with the person you're resending the eGift to.
    2. Tap the three dots on the eGift you sent and tap Resend eGift Card.

    You have successfully resent an eGift.



  12. Can the person who receives the eGift give it to someone else?

    Yes, if someone sends you an eGift, you can give it to someone else.

    To give away an eGift that's been given to you:

    1. Tap the eGift category at the top to view your eGifts.
    2. Find the eGift you want to give to someone else, and tap the three dots in the upper-right corner.
    3. Tap Send to a friend.
    4. Enter the mobile number or email address you want to send the eGift to.
    5. Toca Send.

    You have successfully given your eGift to someone else.
