Samsung Galaxy Note8 - Add a Virtual Private Network

A virtual private network (VPN) encrypts your internet traffic and protects your online identity via a secured remote server and is most commonly used when remotely accessing company systems (e.g., company email, intranet sites, etc.).

Nota Contact the VPN admin for assistance with server info and credentials.

  1. From a Home screen, swipe up or down from the center of the display to access the apps screen.
    Nota These instructions only apply to modo estándar and the default Home screen layout.
  2. Navigate: Settings Ícono Settings > Connections > More connection settings.
  3. Tap VPN.
  4. Oprime el ícono Menu  (upper-right) then tap Add VPN Profile.
  5. If presented with a secure screen lock notification, tap OK.
    Nota Consulta Set Up Screen Lock (pattern, PIN or password only) for assistance.
  6. From the 'Name' field, enter the appropriate name.
  7. From the 'Type' field, tap the Dropdown menu icon Dropdown menu icon then select the appropriate VPN type:
    • PPTP
    • L2TP/IPSec PSK
    • L2TP/IPSec RSA
    • IPSec Hybrid RSA
    • IPSec Xauth PSK
    • IPSec Xauth RSA
    • IPSec IKEv2 PSK
    • IPSec IKEv2 RSA
  8. Enter the appropriate info into the applicable fields then tap Save (lower-right).
    Nota If applicable, tap Show advanced options to configure the following:

    • DNS search domains
    • DNS servers
    • Forwarding routes
