Windows® 10 - Format SD / Memory Card

Precaución Precaución:

  • Formatting permanently erases all data on the memory card. If necessary, view this video for help transferring content to your computer.
  • Ensure the tablet is connected to a power source prior to performing this process. Si no lo haces, podría producirse una pérdida de energía y la tarjeta de memoria podría dañarse.

  • To perform the steps below, ensure the SD / memory card is colocada.
  • If your device is not running Windows 10, refer to Windows 8 for further instruction.
  1. Open File Explorer.
    Nota From the Home screen, navigate: All apps All apps icon (upper-left) > Windows System > File Explorer.
  2. En File Explorer, mantén presionada la unidad de almacenamiento extraíble adecuada (por ej.: Secure Digital storage drive (D:)) por aproximadamente 1 segundo y luego suéltala.
  3. Click Format.
  4. En la pantalla "Format", asegúrate de que las siguientes opciones estén configuradas a tu gusto:
    • Capacity
    • File system
    • Allocation unit size
    • Volume label
    • Quick Format

      Nota Quick format removes files from the memory card but it doesn't scan for bad sectors. The option should only be enabled when the memory card has been formatted previously and you're certain the card is not damaged.
      Nota De acuerdo a la capacidad de la tarjeta, Quick format puede demorar entre 15 segundos y 2 minutos en completarse. If Quick format isn't selected, the process takes longer (e.g., 20 minutes for an 8 GB card).
  5. Click Start (located at the bottom).
  6. From the 'WARNING: Formatting will erase ALL data on this disk?' prompt, click OK to confirm.
  7. If presented with the 'Format Complete' prompt, click OK.
