Turn Voice Input On / Off - Android™

Nota The voice input feature:

  • enables hands-free keyboard use by tapping the microphone located on the onscreen keyboard.
  • can't be turned off on some devices.

Using Google Keyboard/Gboard

  1. From a Home screen, navigate: Apps icon > Settings then tap "Language & input" or "Language & keyboard".
    Nota For Oreo OS, navigate: Apps icon > Settings > System > Languages, input & gestures.
    Nota For Samsung devices on Oreo OS, swipe up or down from the center of the display to access the apps screen then navigate: Settings > General management > Languages and input.
  2. From the Default keyboard, tap Google Keyboard/Gboard.
    Nota Google Keyboard/Gboard is pre-installed on some devices, or descargar e instalar the app from the Google™ Play Store by searching for "Gboard".
  3. Oprime Preferences.
  4. Tap the Voice input key switch to turn on Interruptor en On o desactivar Interruptor en Off.

Using Device Keyboard
Nota
If your device doesn't offer these steps, use Google Keyboard/Gboard to manage voice input.

  1. From a Home screen, navigate: Apps icon > Settings then tap "Language & input" or "Language & keyboard".

  2. From 'Keyboards...', tap "Virtual keyboard" or "On-screen keyboard" then perform one of the following as appropriate:
    • Tap Google voice typing to enable or disable.
