Family Locator is being migrated to Verizon Smart Family

With Verizon Smart Family Premium, you'll enjoy the great location services you had with Family Locator. Plus, you'll get additional parental controls, like usage limits and time restrictions, for no additional cost. If you already subscribe to Verizon Smart Family, you'll even see cost savings each month.

What's changing automatically:

Between 5/13/19 and 5/23/19, your Family Locator subscription will be switched to Verizon Smart Family Premium. You don't need to do anything to complete this process.

Note: Location alerts or other settings you had in Family Locator won't transfer over to Verizon Smart Family. You'll need to sign in to Verizon Smart Family to set them up again.

Your next steps:

We recommend you complete the following steps to get the most out of Verizon Smart Family, including your new location-tracking services:

  1. Download the Verizon Smart Family app to your Android™ o iPhone®, and sign in with your mobile number and My Verizon password. This will complete set up of your Verizon Smart Family account.
  2. Download the Smart Family Companion app on your child’s Android o iPhone, y pair it with your phone. This will improve the location accuracy of the app.
  3. If desired, set up location alerts through the Verizon Smart Family app or the Mi Verizon .
  4. Consider setting up other Verizon Smart Family parental controls:
How to locate your family members

With Verizon Smart Family Premium, you'll be able to check the location of your family members through the:

  • Verizon Smart Family app: You'll see the map on the dashboard (first screen you see when you open the app). Tap on a family member to see location information.
  • My Verizon website: Go to the Verizon Smart Family page. Select a family member at the top of the page, and tap or click Location services to see the map and view the location.

Note: Verizon Smart Family provides the most accurate and detailed location when paired with the Smart Family Companion app on the child's phone. When unpaired with the child's phone, Verizon Smart Family will use the network location, which can vary up to a few miles.
