This page explains how to block and unblock calls, messages, emails and domains, and how to turn account services on or off.

  1. ¿Qué tipos de servicios puedo bloquear en Mi Verizon?

    Desde el Bloqueos page, you can prevent devices on your account from being able to purchase and/or use certain types of calling, messaging and purchasing services. There are 3 types of blocks:

    • Block calls & messages: Prevent a device from getting unwanted calls and texts from a specific number.

    • Block emails & domains: Stop email addresses, domains and text names sent by the web.

    • Block services: Turn on or off options to prevent in-app purchases, set preferences for blocking incoming and outgoing picture and video messages, and control Video Calling use on your device.

  2. ¿Por qué debería bloquear un servicio?

  3. How do I block a number from calling or texting me?

    You can block calls and messages from up to 5 sepcific phone numbers for free for up to 90 days in  Mi Verizon. Account owners and account managers can choose to block numbers on all the lines on their account.

    You can permanently block up to 20 specific phone numbers, including restricted, unavailable and private numbers, for a low monthly fee with Verizon Smart Family™. Aprende a block contacts with Verizon Smart Family o  sign up for Verizon Smart Family si aún no lo has hecho.

  4. How do I block services in My Verizon?

    You can block messaging and services online in My Verizon if you're on a standard monthly plan like el nuevo Plan Verizon.

    To block messaging or purchases:

    1. Ve a la página Bloqueos page in My Verizon on your computer.
    2. Select the line you want to set the service block(s) for.
    3. Scroll down to Block services.
    4. Click Block services.
    5. Next to the desired service(s), click On to enable purchase blocking.

    You've successfully blocked a service.

    My Verizon app

    1. Abre la app My Verizon en tu dispositivo.
    2. Tap the Navigation Menu in the top-left corner of your screen.
    3. Oprime Dispositivos.
    4. Scroll down to the device you’d like to select and tap Manage.
    5. Toca la pestaña Controles.
    6. Tap Adjust service blocks.
    7. Enter your password for My Verizon.
    8. Next to the selected service(s), tap the gray switch to enable purchase blocking.

    Note: When a service block is turned on, the switch appears blue.

    You've successfully blocked a service.

  5. How do I block internet spam, emails, websites or text names?

    Block up to 15 email addresses, websites or text names (e.g., nickname@vtext.com) for free through the Bloqueos page or with the My Verizon app. You can also block all text messages sent from the web or by email.

    To block emails and domains:

    5. Enter an email address or domain to block.
    6. Haz clic en Guardar.

    My Verizon app

    1. Tap the menu in the top-left corner of your screen.
    2. Oprime Dispositivos.
    3. Tap Manage below the line you want to manage.
    4. Toca Controles.
    5. Tap Adjust service blocks.
    6. Select the service(s) you want to block. The switch will be green for services that are blocked.

    You've successfully set up service blocks.

  6. How do I remove a calling or texting block?

    Online and iOS devices

    1. Entra al Bloqueos en Mi Verizon.
    2. Select the line you'd like to apply the block to.
    3. Scroll down to Block calls & messages.
    4. Haz clic en Bloquear llamadas y mensajes.
    5. Click Delete next to the phone number you want to remove the block from.
    6. Haz clic en Guardar.

    You've successfully removed a calling or texting block.

    The My Verizon app (Android devices only)

    1. Abre la app My Verizon en tu dispositivo.
    2. Tap the Navigation Menu in the top-left corner of your screen.
    3. Oprime Dispositivos.
    4. Scroll down to the device you'd like to select and tap Manage.
    5. Toca la pestaña Controles.
    6. Tap Call and message blocking.
    7. Enter your password for My Verizon.
    8. Tap X next to the number you want to unblock.

    You've successfully unblocked a phone number.

  7. How do I unblock a service?

    You can unblock a service online in My Verizon or with the My Verizon app.

    Unblock a service:

    Por Internet

    1. Ve a la página Bloqueos de Mi Verizon en tu smartphone, computadora o tablet.
    2. If you have multiple lines on your account, select the line that you'll be unblocking service(s) for.

      Note: The selected device will appear at the top of the page with a red line underneath it.

    You've successfully unblocked a service.

    My Verizon app

    To unblock a service in the My Verizon app:

    1. Tap the menu in the top-left corner of your screen.
    2. Oprime Dispositivos.
    3. Tap Manage below the line you want to manage.
    4. Toca Controles.
    5. Tap Adjust service blocks.
    6. Tap the switch next to service blocks you want to turn off. A switch is grey when it is off.

    You've successfully unblocked a service.

  8. Cuando bloqueo un servicio en Mi Verizon, ¿en qué momento tendrá efecto?

    Your service block goes into effect immediately.

  9. How do I block inappropriate websites?

    You can set up pre-defined content filters using Verizon Smart Family. Visit Preguntas frecuentes sobre Verizon Smart Family para obtener más información.

  10. ¿Qué debo hacer si recibo un mensaje de texto spam?

    Spam is an unsolicited commercial advertisement or any message that links to a virus or malicious software. Don't respond to the phone number or open any links in the message. Doing so may compromise your personal information and/or your mobile device.

    Si todavía tienes el mensaje en tu dispositivo, sigue los pasos que aparecen a continuación para informar sobre el mensaje no deseado:

    1. Be careful not to open any links and forward the suspected spam text message to short code 7726.
    2. Una vez recibido, te enviaremos un mensaje de texto para pedirte la dirección "De".

    If you are using Verizon Messages (Message+), follow the steps below to report spam:

    1. Mantén oprimido el mensaje. Ten cuidado de no hacer clic en ningún enlace.
    2. When the option menu appears, select Report Spam.
    3. The message will then be deleted from your device, and you'll be notified that the message was reported as spam.
    4. Comenzará la investigación.

    • You won't receive any further updates once you've received the final "Thank You" text message.
