  1. What's the annual upgrade program for Samsung devices?

    The annual upgrade program allows customers who bought an eligible Samsung device under a device payment agreement to turn in that device after 30 days and payment of at least 50%, in order to upgrade to a new, eligible smartphone on a device payment agreement.

  2. How can I participate in the Samsung device annual upgrade program?

    To participate, you need to have:

    1. Purchased and activated an eligible Samsung device on a Verizon Wireless device payment agreement. Eligible devices are:
      • Samsung Galaxy S10 5G , pre-ordered or purchased on or after 4/25/19
      • Samsung Galaxy S8 and Samsung Galaxy S8+ purchased on or before 10/ 21/17
    1. Used the device with Verizon Wireless service for at least 30 days.
    2. Paid at least 50% of the device's retail price.
    3. Returned the eligible Samsung device in buenas condiciones de funcionamiento with no significant damage, as determined by Verizon Wireless, within 14 days after you upgrade.
    4. Satisfied the annual upgrade program terms and conditions.

  3. If the annual upgrade program for Samsung requirements are satisfied, do I need to make the remaining payments for the eligible Samsung device under my original device payment agreement?

    No, you don't need to make the remaining payments.

  4. I have other smartphones on device payment agreements. Are they eligible for early upgrades too?

    The eligibility depends on what type of device you have and when you bought your device:

    • Samsung Galaxy S10 5G devices preordered or purchased on or after 4/25/19 are eligible for the annual upgrade program.
    • Samsung Galaxy S8 and Samsung Galaxy S8+, purchased on a device payment agreement on or before 10/21/17, are eligible for the annual upgrade program.

    All other Samsung smartphones on active device payment agreements entered into before 5/31/15 can upgrade to a new device on a device payment agreement as long as you meet the requisitos de elegibilidad de actualización in your pre-5/31/15 device payment agreement.

  5. Are all Samsung devices eligible for the annual upgrade program?

    No. The only Samsung devices eligible for the annual upgrade program are:

    • Samsung Galaxy S10 5G only version purchased on a device payment agreement on or after 4/25/19.
    • Samsung Galaxy S8 and Samsung Galaxy S8+ purchased on a device payment agreement on or before 10/21/17.

    For all other Samsung devices purchased on device payment agreements, you must pay off the remaining balance to be able to upgrade to a new device.

  6. Is the 4G version of the Samsung Galaxy S10 eligible for the annual upgrade program?

    No, only the Samsung Galaxy S10 5G version is eligible for the annual upgrade program.

  7. If I pre-ordered the Samsung Galaxy S10 5G device, do I still qualify for the annual upgrade program?

    Yes, if you pre-ordered the Samsung Galaxy S10 5G on a Verizon Wireless device payment agreement and activated it, you're eligible for the annual upgrade program.

  8. What happens if I don't return my Samsung device after I upgrade?

    If you don't return the required Samsung device after you upgrade, the remaining balance of your original device payment agreement will be due on your next bill. Visit our Device Payment FAQs to learn how to return your device.
