It seems like poor customer service that Verizon will offer new customers that switch to Verizon or customer that add a line special deals or discounts that are not available to their regular customers. A good example of this is that new customer that switch or an existing customer that adds a new line can get the Moto Z2 Play for $5.00 a month ($12.00 a month discount). Existing customers must pay $17.00 a month.
It seems like Verizon's loyal customer should look elsewhere to see what deals other companies are offering.

Our offers are available to all our customers, 1abcd.... Our promotions have certain requirements that have to be met. While a new line might not be ideal for your account, we do have several trade in offers on Android and Apple devices. You can check out our most current promotions here: https://www.verizonwireless.com/deals-landing/

It's all about the bottom line. Deals and offers are to entice customers to switch, which increases profits. Giving an existing customer a new phone will not result in higher profits.
What is the basis for your loyalty to Verizon? If another carrier provides similar service in your area, take their switch offer and don't look back.

They do have deals for current customers. I do find it ironic you're willing to go to another carrier to get a "new customer" deal which THEIR current customers don't get and you seem ok with that. Isn't that a bit hypocritical? Anyway I upgraded to a Pixel 2 XL in April for $22.91 a month( $12.50 off ) AND got 2 months of YoutubeTV AND a Chromecast AND a Google Home mini. So yes there are deals for current customers but you need to keep an eye out for them.

What are you going on about? It's not poor customer service, you're just seeing what you want to see.
When I got my phone, I got a 200 dollar gift card and a Google Daydream. My girlfriend only pays $10 instead of $27 on her Pixel because of a Holiday Sale. In neither instance were those exclusive new customer deals. Most promotions hardly are since existing customers can just as well take advantage of a BOGO deal if they were planning to add a new line.
Who is to say 2 years down the line you wouldn't be complaining on a T-Mobile forum about the same thing?
