Wi-Fi will connect, but will drop the connection after a count of five, and the network and password are not saved

This started yesterday.  When attempting to connect to my home network, I select the network and enter the password.  Wi-Fi will connnect for a count of five, then disconnect.  This issue also removed what had been a saved network configuration from the device.

What type of phone do you have? Have you gotten an update on your phone recently?

have you selected smart switch in wi-fi advanced settings??
