How do I remove an unwanted contact?

I have purchased a new lg phone. When  I first sent a photo several family members, I discovered that I  obtained a new contact, whom  I do not know, nor want on my contact list. I have tried to remove this person, but, I apparently am at a loss on how to perform this task.  Please Help....

Open contact.  tap more dots at top right, select delete.
