HTC One M9 keeps powering down after full encryption

You might have a corruption if anything at all happened to interrupt the process which can take a VERY long time.  If you are unable to get back up and running without powering off you might try an FDR as it is the only way to get back to normal.  I suspect either an interruption or other cause created corruption and as a safety measure the phone is reacting as such.
