Will my calendar events transfer to a new device?

I do all my iPhone 4s backups on my computer using iTunes. I plan on purchasing a new iPhone 5s soon. If I transfer my 4s backup to the new 5s will it transfer all my calendar events ??

If the backup is to the cloud I have seen total backup to any and all I devices

When I bought the iPhone 5s actually two of them when I signed in with my Apple ID and password everything was on my new devices without hooking to the computer.

You can set your device to update over wifi which happens when it's plugged into the charger. Like I said my music and contacts and calendar as well as my photos are on all my apple devices.
