upgrade fee

Very dissapointed with Verizon on charging me an upgrade fee.  During these difficult times they are charging me a fee that is nothing but bogus. I called and asked them to remove and got no where after 8 years of me being a customer and always paying my bill on time.  Considering leaving Verizon.

I swear this thread is posted every other week.

All carriers charge these fees. These are avoidable if you purchase unlocked/sim-free. You get charged these once your account is accessed either from a Verizon store or a retailer who sells Verizon service. T-mobile and AT&T do the exact same thing.

We know this are difficult times, and we want to help you in any way we can, LESMAR51. The good news is we can help you in other ways. If you can afford to pay the bill, you can always set up a promise to pay via My Verizon to help you pay the balance. https://www.verizon.com/support/promise-to-pay-faqs/

"Everybody else does it" is a lame excuse for an inexcusable policy. And a snitty attitude about it is just daring people to find someone else to do business with. i came ere looking for information on an upgrade to SE.  So far, I'm not only not impressed with SE but I'm even less impressed with Verizon. Good customer service isn't just minding the shop and answering questions, it's how you handle the tough ones.

Rbt2211, you are absolutely correct. Each interaction matters when choosing where you do business and we are sorry to see that you have had those less than stellar experiences. As one that has purchased an SE for my daughter, I can say that it has worked wonderfully for her needs. However, each individual is different. What types of things will you be using your phone for? Do you tend to download many games, apps or music? As to the Upgrade Fee, I know that I do not like things that affect my pocket book. While I wish that I could say that they do not exist, they do. This was something that was deemed necessary several years ago. The Upgrade Fee is a one-time per upgrade charge that helps to cover the costs that go along with the tools available for consumers, activation assistance and even transfer tools. The good news is, that you can actually save 50% of those fees simply by placing the order online.
