I've had my iphone 7 for about a week. Am unable to send or receive text messages from anyone other than iphone users. My imessage setting is turned on as is "send as SMS". What else do I need to check? Thanks.

Thank you to all who helped with this issue. I finally called Verizon
tech support and they were able to resolve the issue. As it turns out,
there was a block although when I went into My Verizon I could not see
it. Not sure why. Anyway, it's all resolved and I thank you again.

Maryinco, a week with this issue is too long. We want you to be able to send and receive your messages from everyone. Let's look into this. Are you currently experiencing any other services not working? If so, which ones?
Also, let's turn off iMessage (settings>messages>turn off iMessage) and wifi (if turned on) and attempt to send a message to someone without an iPhone. Do you receive any error messages?

No other issues thank you. I turned off iMessage and the wifi (yes it
was turned on). Still received "Not Delivered" when I sent a message to
my non iphone user friend.

Maryinco, let's get your messages flowing again. Please reset "Network Settings" and test again. http://spr.ly/65838OwcZ This will reset your WiFi passwords but your content will be safe.

If you haven't tried everything in the following Apple link then you should give it a try. If you can't send or receive messages on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

I have spent hours and hours today trying to resolve this issue. I have
been through all the items in this attachment. The only thing that I
noticed is that under the part of the attachment entitled "If you see a
red exclamation point" (which is what I get) It says to tap "Send as
Text Message". I don't have that choice. When I tap on the exclamation
point the only choices that come up are "Try Again" and "Cancel"
So far, nothing I've tried has worked.

Did you setup iPhone as new or restore from older phone? Was that phone on the latest iOS?

For the non-iPhone friend that you're trying to text, is their phone number stored in your contacts as a 10 digit number? (XXX-XXX-XXXX)
