Is there a fee for buying the iPhone 6 at full retail price, even before my two year contract is done?

Will I have to pay any amount of money to get a new phone activated rather than my current one (besides purchasing the phone itself)? My two year contract hasn't ended, and I still have about a year left but I'd like to purchase a new phone and have no problem paying the retail price.

there is no extra charge to switch/activate any devices.
