Also to say AppleCare+ doesn't protect against damage or water damage their own documents say they do.
Just like assurion there's a disclaimer against intentionally breaking your devices for claims. Cut and dry if they catch you you are not covered either way.
The question becomes... Is the lost and stolen portion worth all that money?
Honestly if you don't want phone insurance whether Asurion or AppleCare+ then you can utilize http://www.swappa.com and buy one that fits your price range. Yes they are used but all devices on warranty are refurnished. Plus all phones listed on that site are verified before they are accessible to the public to buy. The reason I trust that site is for the fact they check the device identification to make sure its not lost, stolen, etc.
I agree completely!!!. Asurion will send you a reconditioned iphone NOT a new phone. In my case it took two tries to get me a refurbished phone that would work. The first phone sent would not even turn on!! Does this give you an idea of what kind of company you are dealing with?? Oh there are fast at getting a phone to you overnight. What good is fast when replacement phone does not function?
The second phone has a very weak or damaged antenna. The wifi reception is so bad I have to be in the same room with my router with this replacement piece of crap phone. Previously, I had wifi reception though out my house. Router hasn't changed but now I have an under performing phone. According to Verizon customer service rep there is no way to test this so I guess they expect me to just lay back an take it. Very frustrating. Not certain what I should do with this sub standard unacceptable phone.
Verizon people at local store were cordial but of no real support nor assistance. I made multiple attempts to let Verizon resolve this to my satisfaction. I guess it is karma for damaging my phone to start this crazy train rolling!!
My action: I will be changing cell phone providers going forward. So Verizon listen up.....you are loosing a 10 year plus customer who spends $200 a month on cell service for multiple devices and you have created a negative advertiser due to the unacceptable performance of your selected insurance vendor.
Good luck. Don't get insurance with the other providers as well when you switch. The underwriter makes the policy and choices. They all use Assurion and Assurant which have the same policies.

I have been paying for my sisters iphones for about 6 years because she is providing great care of our 80 year old mother.
There was a time when I paid $13.00 a month only to have it get dropped a month after two years of payments and I couldn’t use all of that money that I donated to Asurion.

There isn’t anything that we can do about getting them to give us at least a better chance of getting some replacement or repair.... I mean offer more than one or two repairz
