trying to keep my unlimited

So I currently have 5 lines.  3 of which have unlimited data.  There are no upgrades available.  I'm considering terminating one of the other 2 lines early.  When terminating your line early, contact customer service.  Your etf will depend on how long you have had that line.  For example, one of my lines I've had for a year. My etf would only be $230.  Then I could add another line back onto the account, get the iphone 5 for the discounted fee instead of paying the full retail price, switch that to my # with unlimited data.  I should then be able to continue with my unlimited data.  Given this is easier for me, as 2 of my lines, are not regularly used so giving up the phone # will not really affect us.

If you cancel a line, you can't add a new line for 60 days.  If you try to add a line they will just reactivate your old line.

I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

I called and spoke with customer service tonight and asked her specifically if I could do this and she never mentioned not being able to add a new line for 60 days. She said I would pay the ETF and I could purchase a new phone and add a line.. hmmmmm

Add a line and then cancel to make sure. You have to wait untill end of bill cycle for it to cancel. You can't do an on demand cancel.

When you add line make it individual plan for now untill other one is cancelled. I wouldn't cancell all time because they check these things before adding lines during credit check process.
