I currently have a droid 3 but I'm not due for an upgrade until March 2013, but as an early Xmas gifts my parents and grandparents said they would buy me the iPhone 5 for the full retail price. My question is am I going to get charged an early termination fee or anything? I'm not canceling my contract I'm just upgrading before my time.

No, you wouldn't get charged an ETF in this case.

Hi there Thxu4th3venom,
Wow! What a super nice Christmas gift! 21stNow is correct that you will not be charged an Early Termination Fee for activating a new iPhone 5 that was purchased at full retail.
Enjoy your new phone, it's right around the corner!
Thanks,
