My 5s won't connect to the 4G LTE Network Extender

Just received the new 4G LTE Network Extender. Set up was easy. My wife's iPhone 6 connects no problem.

However, my 5s will only connect for data. It's jumped from 1 bar to 5 bars. Unfortunately, when I make or receive a call, it drops back down to 1 bar.

Calling #48 from my phone tells me I'm not connected (my wife's says it is).

Verizon support can't find anything to help. It's very frustrating.

Any ideas on how to resolve? It must be something with my phone.

Finally talked to Tier 2 support. It turns out the 5s is incompatible with the 4G LTE Network Extender, so to connect I'll have to get a new phone (iPhone 6 or higher, Galaxy S5 or higher).

Sure wish they'd thought of that before they recommended the network extender...
