I do have an older phone iPhone 5s, but that should not stop me from receiving or sending a text message. I have tried this multiple times, but fails every time rather I'm on wifi on LTE. Also, if I'm on the phone and call waiting comes in, forget about seeing who's calling because it's not happening. Is this a Verizon issue on due to being on an older device?

Receiving texts and call waiting should be a breeze. Both features should be there for you. What tricks have you tried? How long has this been a concern? What happens when you power your phone off, wait 30 seconds, power back on, then test?
