Does anyone know why some msgs i send say iMessage …..then "delivered"at the bottom of txt I sent, also they are always blue. Also it can be the same person i txt to and it is sporadic in its choice of whether it is to be a imessage or txt message. The txt's that i send that say "text message sent are green…… thanks for any clues to this mystery which is probably a very simple explanation.
Again thank you

It says iMessages because the person you are sending the text to has an iphone. That is why it shows up in blue. when its green its for non iPhone users. Also its free to send texts to iPhone users.

Correct that iMessages are only between iPhone users, but just because it's green doesn't mean it's not an iPhone user. If you turn off iMessaging, you will show up as green to other iPhone users as well. It is not "free to send texts" to iPhone users either. If you have an unlimited texting plan you will not be charged *extra*. If you're using iMessaging you WILL incur data charges for iMessages, though they will be negligible. Certainly not free, though.

Sometimes mine although sends to another iPhone from an iPhone doesent always work. Sometimes it is blue and then turns green after then it charges me a text. I have all precautions like the text block to not send if iMessage isent working. iMessage isent perfect but I'm sure it will be perfected . I don't want to alarm the of poster and I want to add that after some Resistence Verizon did credit back. I did have good signal.

Thanks everyone for the responses. So as I see it we still do not know whats what, is that correct?
Also I wanted to add that " I don't know what imessaging is so i do not think I turned it on. Is that a App from the App store? Regardless I sent a txt message to a friend, it became blue and said delivered. So I am guessing they have a iphone, is that a correct assumption? Anyways...i get a response from friend which i then responded to and the txt i sent
turned green and said txt message sent. we both responded and txt from our cell phones.
Did I just confuse everyone or is this scenario specific to me and my lack of knowledge...........
what a nice forum this is, my first ever forum question and such nice group of people to address this
Thanks Again
