Iphone`s voicemail no longer functions in Prepaid -Why?

I just switched over to Prepaid Service today and the Voicemail is switched back to the old analog system voicemail.You have to listen to each & every voicemail and respond. In my iPhone I could pick and choose without calling or listening to them. My Screen is blank in the Voicemail section of my iPhone, how is this" iPhone USER FRIENDLY". Any HOPE of getting it back to the iPhone System????
