My sister lost her black iphone 4s Verizon and we're sure it's been restored by whoever found the iphone. Is there any way we can still track after restore? What if we wait it out and hope this person turns on location services and/or uses the SIM card?
Also, can't verizon track it between the hours that he or she found it until he or she restored it. Like, If this person for example, only restored it 5 hours after he or she found it, does verizon still have access to gps location during those hours before restoration?
We really don't know what to do, so please tell us anything that might help us and anything that won't.
Have you report it lost to Verizon Wireless?
I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.
Oh no ackattack. I lost my phone once and thought I was going to lose my mind with it. Has your sister already reported the phone lost or stolen either on My Verizon http://bit.ly/xB4iTc or by calling Customer Service at 800-922-0204? If she has, the lost/stolen suspend option will keep whoever may have the phone from being able to use it on her account or any other account. If it hasn't already been suspended, you may want to have her try Apple's Find My iPhone option http://support.apple.com/kb/ph2696 to see if it can be located that way. I would highly recommend having her report the phone as lost/stolen as quickly as possible though to avoid any possible usage by whomever picked it up.
On a side note, if she has insurance she can file a claim at http://bit.ly/07CrqPK quickly and easily.
