I can hear the call waiting tones however it does not give me an option to answer the call nor can I see who is currently calling. The only way to find out who is calling is by quickly ending my current call and waiting several seconds and the call waiting call when then ring normally and I can answer it then. It also does not show a missed call or who it is from.

I know how important every call is. Even if you just want to see who the caller is. For others that found this trouble after the update to iOS6, it's been found that calling *228 and selecting option 1 to reprogram the phone plus turning the phone off and back on has fixed the trouble. Please try this and keep us posted to your experience.
