I called today to find out if I could use my phone for data and voice calls in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and the rep told me that it was considered domestic so there would be no roaming charges.
However, when I look at Verizon's coverage map it says there 1X data coverage. In my experience, any time my phone has said 1X that means I can't get any reception for data.
So... who do I believe? The rep on the phone or the coverage map on the website? I really need to know if I can use my phone while I'm there.
