I didn't know that a solution was available until recently. Customer service told me about the extender, then transferred me to tech support. They were supposed to send someone out to check the signal at my house, but I haven't heard from them. I am very unhappy that you have had a device that could have helped me and never bothered to tell me (yes, I have mentioned this problem to Verizon in the past, every time I tried to activate a new phone).
