I am not at all a difficult or vengeful person, but I am considering returning the device and switching carriers, at that point how do they plan on crediting me for their mishap, I guess they would probably just blow it off, I truly feel Verizon has ZERO conscious to their customers.

it is ridiculous that we as the consumer, and being loyal verizon customers, are having to come out of pocket for the sales taxes. If they are going to refund the taxes from when the N7 was originally purchase then why not waive the exchange sales taxes for  the inconvenience, at least Until this has been settled altogether, and then the retailers get their money back from samsung that way,   we aren't the ones who have signed contracts with Samsung.  With that being said, it is Samsung who has offered everyone the credited amount, even if we choose to go with something other than another Samsung device. They still include a $25 credit. However Verizon wants to ensure they aren't losing on this matter in any way.

Verizon along with all the others that are authorized retailers have the signed contract with Samsung, I highly doubt that in those contracts it states anywhere in the event any of their products being sold have been found to be defected or a safety risk that the consumer would have to be the one most inconvenienced.

This couldn't be more of an inconvenience, I am really frustrated about this whole tax issue, I refuse to pay taxes on the exchange. Verizon has a contract with Samsung, not myself or any other customer in this situation for that matter. Yet Verizon isn't offering anything to their customers for the inconvenience. I have been a loyal customer for a long time, no disconnections, no payment extensions, not even a late payment, not to mention the outrageous price of my monthly bill. With all of that being said, I don't have a choice but to return the device, however, as a verizon customer, and the lack of customer satisfaction, or appreciation being shown, I'd rather go to another carrier, take my chances on that 1% difference and pay full price for a non samsung device elsewhere, than to continue to help Verizon grow only to experience it being the worst at everything except coverage.
Are you serious, wow I wasn't aware of that, is this a 100% fact? If so, that is going to be that much more of an inconvenience!! Wouldn't as if it isn't an inconvenience already, the least they ... See more...

I am new to this community thing, however, I needed somewhere discuss how I feel about this whole recall thing, So, I guess it is kind of neat. However, from what I have read here, as many of us Notes 7, Note users are extremely disappointed with the recall in the first place, maybe it is just me but I feel as if I am not being treated fairly with the whole matter, I am not sure how the other carriers are handling the situation and trying to accommodate their customers, but Verizon is definitely not making the process any easier. Just as everyone else from my understanding has received the exchange process benefits and requirements email, I was under the impression that when I exchange the device I would be able to choose any device, at no charge, at the time of the exchange, as some of the others, I upgraded and set up a payment for the Note 7 device on myverizon.com At the time of doing so I had to pay the sales tax for the device. No big deal, but now that I am required to exchange the device and was informed that since I made my original purchase online, that it would be more convenient to make the exchange online as well. So my point in all this is, that in the process of doing so I am expected to pay the sales tax on the new device of my choice at checkout, however, I am supposed to have $100 credit, and the sales tax will be refunded once they receive the Note 7, If I already paid taxes on the Note 7 at the time of purchase, and now I have to send it back, and still I am required to pay the sales tax on the device I choose as well, how is it that I am being credited anything, Rather, how are they going to refund me the taxes paid when I ordered the Note 7. I am extremely frustrated about this, so I do apologize if I am not clear on my entire point here. Overall,  I feel that Verizon alone has become very unsatisfactory in their customer service, especially to those who have proven themselves as loyal customers.
