Apple Visual transcribed voicemail inconsistent - Many show up - Some don’t 1) Not all VMs are recorded/transcribed 2) Have to open “physical” voicemail w/ PW to gain access - listen to - delete - because they are NOT showing up on phone. 3) Techs - PLEASE KNOW - iPhone 7 64GB - 50% free data iOS 15.4 - iPhone 7 Rebooted    A) Some VMs may be dialing in on forwarded landline   B) Some VW not being transcribed showing up on iPhone longer than ~45-50+ sec.   C) Only means to check and access these Ghost VMs is to dial into actual VM / give password and listen to / edit / delete while connected to Verizon “physical” VM

It has never been made clear that using Call Blocking is only Local to my iPhone and that it simply means that those blocked do not ring on my phone and are passed directly to voices mail. The problem with this missing information is that if these bliocked callers actually can and do leave voicemails on the Verizon server - and as it turns out the Verizon server CAN NOT and DOES NOT update my iphone that there is a new voicemail taking space up in my Verizon Voicemail account.   As I understand my standard VM account allows ~ 20 phone messages. At least 1 flaw with call blocking is that Verizon also does not update me that my voicemail is full - especially due to the call blocking messages that have accumulated there without me knowing they have been placed there ... at least that continues to be our experieince when voicemail becomes full with VM from these blocked callers’ messages.   This is how we can end up with no room left in our voicemail - despite having deleted unwanted voicemails on our (local) iPhones - AND deleting the same deleted messages also from the (local) iphone’s Deleted messages folder (which otherwise only automattically gets deleted ever ~ 30 days) It is therefore only by the grace of someone else, who happened to call me to find my VM is full texting or emailing to that effect that I can learn of this problem.  Noting that I still could call my own number or *86 (the means to get to my Verizon server VM account) and put in the password (obtainable form Verizon if you forgot or have lost) ... to find out that despite what it might say on my iPhone that there can be Voicemails on that server - due to my use of call blocking and Verizon’s inability to count/ account to me on my iphone of these voicemail occurrence/existence. It would be WONDERFUL if these hiccups in the functionality of Call Blocking could be better illuminated to we users and avaialabe as reminders within the use of the functionality... E.G. Using Call Blocking May incure Voicemails that accumulate in your voicemail - and possibly thereby filling your Voicemail with out you (the user) EVER becoming aware of such” We are currently trying the Beta Call Filtering app - somewhat better - in that is causes the calls to be blocked at Verizon’s switcher and not at our phones - thereby at least reducing if not illuminating SPAM voice mail.   HOWEVER - the current version of the Call Filtering app DOES NOT ALLOW us to input even SAFE Numbers - unless my contact’s numbers are such and the app simply is not being clear of that fact?

THIS ISSUE IS PARTICULAR TO MOVING TO an iPHONE FROM ANOTHER VERIZON PHONE & NOT IF YOU SIMPLY STARTED A NEW VERIZON ACCOUNT WITH A NEW iPHONE After 4 hours of: Working through a smart Verizon iPhone Level 2 technical + Apple's iPhone Level 2 technical support + Verizon's iPhone Level 3 technical support   SOME ANSWERS: Let's be clear - the Verizon iPhone for all its wonders is still a new animal for Verizon which is proving a bit tricky to integrate into Verizon's own feature rich set.   In particular the iPhone's voicemail which is owned and controlled by Apple directly is something very new to Verizon and which Verizon quietly is still working hard to effectively transition Verizon customers into.   When you upgrade to an iPhone from another type of phone Verizon needs to set up an Apple Voicemail account for you.  At the same time your old Verizon Voicemail should be terminated - but this doesn't always happen... When you get an iPhone for the 1st time one of the 1st things that SHOULD happen when you got to the Phone icon and touch the Voicemail icon - is that you should be forced to setup your new Apple Voicemail.  If this doesn't happen your transition to your iphone may have gone wrong! What still can  happen (per Verizon's 3rd level technical service reps) is the your original Verizon voice mail can remain active - effectively giving you 2 Voicemails!  ...AND THIS IS ONE TIME 2 IS NOT BETTER THEN 1!!    Having 2 voicemails on your iPhone account which only recognizes 1 voice causes some interestingly negative and perplexing issues = in Layman's terms - it DON'T WORK RIGHT ;-( One of the Negative symptoms has to do with the in Verizon system "Reply to a (voicemail) Message" option 8.  This option provides a wonderful way for Verizon to Verizon customers to listen to a voicemail and (clicking 😎 return a voicemail message to the original (Verizon) sender (press 8 - leave return message - press # + press # again to send your message).  The simple fact is that Apple voicemail system does NOT support Verizon's option 8 in voicemail AND if your new iPhone's voicemail account was set up incorrectly - when you call another Verizon phone and leave a voice message whoever pick's up that voicemail they will STILL HEAR VOICEMAIL OPTION 8. If they happen to use this option to replay to you - they think they actually replied to you - when in reality their message goes into the either - NEVER to be heard from again. THIS VOICEMAIL ERROR CAN BE FIXED! YOU WORK WITH YOUR VERIZON iPHONE LEVEL 2TECH ... and if they fail to fix your problem ask for a Level 3 Verizon iPhone Technician!!! ... Because Verizon's Level 2 technicians may still be unaware that this particular problem MUST to be fixed on Verizon side AND that the tools available to them at Level 2 support DO NOT ALLOW THEM TO SEE the real problem (like you may have 2 emails still). And even if they could see the problem - they are not allowed deep enough access to Verizon's system to fix it - AND even Level 3 Technicians might not be able to - BUT they have access to the Gods of the Machine - the ENGINEER Level Verizon Technicians - which is how deep this issue is still.  But Hope remains at Hogwarts School of Magic...
