I agree. I recently went in to upgrade my phone, and take off the data plan which for me is a luxury but not needed and I'm trying to lower my bills. As I looked at a phone that appealed to me the rep told me I had to get a data plan with that one. As I looked at him dumb-founded he proceeded to walk me over to the non data plan section. Basically the teen phone area. Apparently to Verizon we are either business people with need for emails and web, or teens. Nothing in between. Sprint came to mind at that moment too as I walked out of the store.
Did Verizon make it so you HAVE to get a data plan with the ENV3 now? If so what happens to the people that bought one before this became the policy? are they being cherged without warning?

Hi, I have 2 phones. one a Smartphone with data plan and one not. Both have unlimitted text messaging. My Windows hotmail account has a feature where I can send myself a SMS txt message whenever a new email comes in. If I use the number of the other phone, with no data plan, and use that # to send a txt message to about a new email, will that be counted as a text or as data? testing it with my smartphone all i get is a text message with a header on the subject. Thanks for your info
