We WANT this Verizon... when I read the Samsung announcement on the Galaxy Note 5 page, I was thrilled - only to hear that Verizon will not offer it and every other carrier will. What's up with that guys? Re-visit this decision please? I really don't want to leave after 20+ years - but I will, AT&T is offering some great incentives and I wouldn't think twice!

Now that you mention it Brian, you're completely right - when I used the Trade-in Service three years ago, the packaging was much better!!!

Thank you very much for dropping in - before I had a chance to try what you suggested, I received this email from Verizon Online Trade-in Support: ------------------------------------------------------------------- >> Proprietary e-mail removed as required by the << ------------------------------------------------------------------- They were already giving me a gift card for $11.16 so, with the additional $50.00, that's almost $62.00 in my book! That restores my faith in Verizon Customer Service... again, thanks for the reply and suggestions! Message was edited by: Verizon Moderator

Well, a.) My Razr Maxx was three generations old, not a Razr Maxx HD, just a Maxx, so I didn't figure it was worth any more than the $62.00. b.) I've used the Trade-in Program in the past and they were fair - I received what I was told I'd receive and one of those phones did have a cracked display, so I got what it was worth. Yes, I read the disclaimer that you quoted, but like a lot of other people, I thought I wouldn't have to revert back to it to see that I agreed to let myself get screwed! I guess that covers it - thank you for your response "rcschnoor" Jim D

Hi Folks, I just upgraded to a new Droid Maxx (Love it, BTW!) and subsequently, traded in my (perfectly working, undamaged) Droid Razr Maxx about a week later. I checked on the status 9/12 and received this: Final Trade-In Value Adjustment Reason September 05, 2013 Motorola XT912M Droid Razr Maxx $62.00 Paid $11.16 LCD is not working - LCD is cracked/broken             Now, Verizon provides you with a Prepaid, Padded Shipping Envelope - I followed their directions regarding preparation, packed the phone and dropped it off at my local Post Office for return. As Verizon Prepays the shipping, I cannot insure the package. Now it's "My Word against Their Word" that the display was Cracked/Broken. I asked for a means of filing a "shipping claim" and have received no reply! What do I do? I was promised $62.00 and am now getting only $11.16 through NO fault of my own... thoughts? Got it! I used "ES File Explorer" on the Razr Maxx as my file manager and loved it. I installed it on the new phone and it gives you access to much more of the phone than the PC connection does. I just pasted the file from the old phone into the newly FOUND VZMessages folder and it began the restore process immediately. It's funny, when I connect the old phone to the PC, it shows me to virtual drives and everything on them. The new phone does not do this! Thanks for the attempt...

I actually use Verizon Messaging for my Texting App... you just select "Save Conversations" > "Filename:" and hit "Save". It saves a file and a folder to the "VZMessages" folder in External Memory. When I go to the new phone and hook it up to the PC, there is no "VZMessages" folder to place my old stuff in. I have the "VZW Messages" App installed and working on the new Maxx and I can do the "Save" function with that. It saves a similar file name but doesn't say WHERE it's saving it. There has to be some area of the new phone that is inaccessible to the PC's file manager, it seems.

I've had my Razr Maxx for probably 2 months now and this is a first. I took it out of my holster this morning to connect it to my PC at work. As it came out of the holster, I noticed it was extremely hot - so hot, I had to put it down quickly. This has never happened before! I logged in and checked to see if anything might be cranking the processor up but nothing out of the ordinary was running. I shut it OFF and turned it back on - it immediately cooled down and has been normal ever since. I am wondering what could have happened if I hadn't pulled it out when I did? Hot enough to burn up? It's a bit scary... anyone else had this happen yet? Thanks in advance... Jim D
