My device is the one that looks like a big white ice cube: 5G Home Broadband. Anyway, I have a Hyperspace Hypercube connected to it (a cube with mirrors and RGB lights in it) so I can control it with its app via my phone. This morning, the Hypercube turned on all by itself. I was just wondering if this is a sign that my network has been breached. I've checked my Cube's setting's in my browser, but can find no way to find and get rid of unknown devices connecting to my wifi. This seems like an oversight of very basic network security. Is there a way to do this? I'm not paying for this thing so everyone and their cousin can have a crack at it. Thanks.

For the past two years I've been using the Verizon Jetpack 8800L hotspot with 150 GB of data. I've only surpassed the limit once or twice If I were to buy a 5G hotspot (UWB is now available in my area), would I burn through the 150 GB more quickly, since the data access would be faster? I do a fair amount of streaming and YouTube video watching, in addition to some online gaming. Thanks.

OK, so over on the VZW reddit, there was a thread saying that under the new plans, going over the monthly allotment on smartphone hotspot will now only result in deprioritization, rather than the 600 kbps throttle. However, as of today, there's another thread saying that the first thread wasn't true and that the hard caps will still be in place under the new plans. So I just want to ask plain as day on the one place where the truth will be known: which is correct? Are we still having the hard caps and 600 kbps throttling or will we just be deprioritized if we go over? Thank you so much.

I want to buy the Sony Xperia 1 ii, but have read that it's unlocked only. If I bought this phone and used it with my VZW SIM, would I be able to use it for mobile hotspots/USB tethering for my PC or can only a VZW branded phone use this feature? Thank you.
Yes. It's unconscionable for VZW to be this late with our pie update! The whole thing feels like pie in the sky at the moment.
Performed factory data reset. Update is now installing. It's a [removal required by the Verizon Wireless Terms of Service] that we shouldn't have to deal with, but seems to be the only solution.
I turned on all apps I had turned off under Applications and the update still failed. I'm now doing a factory data reset to see if that rectifies the situation. Will post back with results.

My current phone came with a new, unactivated SIM card, but I put my old phone's SIM in instead. Lately, I've been having trouble with texts failing to send/receive. I thought I might try the SIM I had never used. How do I transfer my phone number from one to the other? Thank you.
I see. Thank you.

This is on both my computer (using the JetPack) and my Galaxy S4. The site is called Guiding Eyes.org, which is a charity which helps blind people and their seeing eye dogs. At any rate, the browser (Firefox 25.0.1) gets as far as waiting for the site, but never loads it. I also tried Opera 15 with the same result. I checked the website Down For Everyone or Just Me and it said it's just me, the site is up. A reboot did not fix the problem. I ran a tracert and pinged the site and got this... Actually, the problem turned out to be a ton of malware infesting my computer. After a good MBAM cleaning and a reboot, I was able to access the page again. I guess the new firmware has some security thing that prevents infested computers from accessing the device's settings. I found out that was the problem when I was able to access it via an old Win Vista laptop I have lying around. Go figure!!!!
Video of the problem.

The admin password is still the same, but when I click on the Login button on vz.hotspot/index.html, nothing happens, not even an error message. I've tried Firefox 25.0.1 and Opera 15. I also popped the device's battery. I've thought of doing a factory reset, thus setting it back to the default passwords, but my concern is I still won't be able to login and then I'll be stuck with the default passwords. Any ideas or am I forced to wait for VZW to patch the patch?
The last time I called, it only let me pick from menus with no option to speak to a live operator. How do I reach a real person?

I took screencaps from in my account to show what's happening. I want to change from Unlimited to 1,000 texts per month to try to rein in my bill a bit. But it won't accept the changes I make. I also tried doing it via the My Verizon Wireless app on my phone and I can't even click the texting part to change it. Is there some rule against reducing my texting while I retain my unlimited data or am on the 450 minute talk and text plan? Thank you. >> Attachment edited to remove personal information per the << Message was edited by: Verizon Moderator
Since Google Wallet is blocked (thanks a lot, VZW!), can we use Isis or some alternative instead?

That's going to suck for me, as I don't get my discounted upgrade till July. I personally think the iPhone is what brought all this on. It was the iPhone that messed up AT&T's network when it was first introduced five years ago and this led to AT&T's tiered data plans. Now that VZW has an iPhone, they too are bringing in tiered data and usage caps. If Sprint ever gets one, the same thing will happen on their network. iPhones are nothing more than Gigabyte Gobblers that ruin any network they're put on.
