When I attempted to dial the number, there was no dial tone or response msg...I called via skype, and it indicated that this was an "invalid number". I have not attempted to block the number (as of yet, the harassing text was a single occurrence). There was no VZW specific information in the message, but I reset my password nonetheless. Does VZW have a means of determining whether a text was sent from a spoofed number? Seems like this would require minimal electronic forensics.
