If i wanted to end my two year contract early for the EDGE plan would there still be a termination fee? If so is there a way to null it (i.e. trade in phone?)

I would like to know if by ending my two year contract early in order to start the edge plan if I would still have to pay the $350 termination fee? I plan on keeping my phone, but I do not mind trading it in to counteract the fee if necessary.
