Hi Snn5, Did you read the rest of my original post? you asked how it's illegal? did you check the links for CTIA & FCC? this device has Band 2 and Band 4 capable hardware. it works for T-Mobile and AT&T. before software update, all you had to do was toggle a setting from CDMA to GSM and it worked right away for these carriers. Now you have to dig deeper and unhide the options that mysteriously disappeared upon software update.... hmm interesting https://www.change.org/p/verizon-daniel-s-mead-stop-carrier-locking-motorola-moto-e-lte-xt1528          with the earlier version of Android Software on this device (5.0.2) it was easier. It seems now they have made it more difficult. which is illegal for Verizon to be Carrier locking their 4G LTE devices now that President Obama has signed a law forbidding VZW/ATT/TMO/SPR from carrier locking devices that have the technology capable of operating on multiple frequency bands. My VZW Moto E (XT1528) stopped working on GSM network AFTER Software/system update from Android 5.0.2 ... to 5.1. This devices used to work perfectly on both AT&T and VZW network until this recent system update. This is illegal!
