this is not considered an "app purchase", this is a feature that is provided by Verizon Wireless, so having that block in place will not help with this situation. blocking app purchases is to prevent kids (or adults) from inadvertently purchasing additional services within an app (i.e. tokens, lives, gems for games).
you have to activate international services on your plan before your device will function. if it's already active your phone should work and you'll be billed at the pay per use rate
you'd have to turn off the call forwarding feature. call your phone number. let the voicemail greeting come on, press the # sign, and then enter your password when prompted.

imnotwonderwoman and vblechle sounds like you could both benefit from FamilyBase. if you add it from the website you get the first 30 days and you can set data limits on all lines if needed edit: it's $5 a month after the first 30 days. if you're already over I'd suggest you contact customer care at 800-922-0204 to see if maybe increasing the plan as a one time measure would decrease the overall cost to you by avoiding overage
if your IT department can remotely access your computer they can see your messages. in most corporate environments they have keyloggers set up so they can access anything you've ever typed.
just restart the phone. if that doesn't work for whatever reason go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. (doesn't delete any info, but you will need to connect the WiFi again)

try toggling the switch a few times and restarting your phone by pressing and holding down the Power and the Home (circle) button for about 20 seconds until you see the apple appear

work around is to set the limit on the phone calls and messages to their minimal value. so maybe set them to 1 minute and 1 text a month until you're ready to lift the restrictions as you mentioned time restrictions will stop all service and trusted contacts are able to be reached regardless of limits or time restrictions.

if you've filed a claim through Asurion and you have received the incorrect color you'd have to contact Asurion (or whatever 3rd party insurance you use) and work with them to have the issue resolved. Because the insurance companies are not part of Verizon Wireless, Verizon Wireless would be unable to intervene in their practices.

first call prepaid to make sure it's possible. if it is you can go about it one of two ways. you can do a prepaid to postpaid conversion (done by calling 1-800-922-0204) and having the line disconnected and reserved and then by reaching out to Telesales to add the line to your account. then you can do a TNI swap to switch contracts and disconnect that unneeded extra line. or you can return the contract phone within 14 days and do the prepaid to postpaid conversion and then upgrade that line with the contract.
