In addition to the information the Geri O has provided, I would recommend for you to sign into the account holder's my verizon account and look at the usage details on the device that is lost. Once you log into the account on the click on usage details. Select the number in the drop box and the current usage will load up. Your current usage will update every 24 hours. This will allow you to see when the last time your device was used. I also recommend for you to suspend your device. You can suspend the line by contacting  customer care or by signing into the account owner's my verizon account. To suspend your line once you are logged in the account scroll down to device and select suspend/reconnect, select the number that you would like to suspend.     Sign into your my verizon account here https://login.verizonwireless.com/amserver/UI/Login
