First, your not using a regular speaker with a mylar or paper cone. The sound comes from a very small part called a Sound Transducer. Dirt and dust tends to collect in the protective screen of this part and sometimes blocking the normal sound output. You can clean this yourself with a can of computer air. Do not aim the air stream at the device, but blow the air across the device in quick burst while using a small soft paint brush to help free the dust. If this does not improve your sound it may them be a network or device issue.  Hope this helps.

Start phone in safe mode to see if your Wi-Fi is working normal. If not shut down or delete these same apps one at a time as that was when your problem started. One or more of your apps could be the cause of your lost Wi-Fi signal.   To run Safe Mode:   With the device powered on, press and hold the Power button (located on the right edge) until the Phone options prompt appears then release. Select and hold Power off until the Reboot to Safe Mode prompt appears then release. Tap Restart.   The restart process may take up to 45 seconds to complete.   Upon restart, Safe mode appears in the lower-left of the unlock/home screen. With Safe Mode enabled, test device and app functionality. If the previous issue fails to occur, the cause has been isolated to a third-party app and all recently installed or updated apps should be uninstalled. Restart the device to disable Safe Mode, reinstall then test each app, one at a time, to identify which is causing the problem.

The S5 touch screen works by capacitive touchscreen and not resistive touchscreen. Capacitive touchscreen displays rely on the electrical properties of the human body to detect when and where on a display the user touches. Because of this, capacitive displays can only work as normal when dry and be controlled with very light touches of a dry finger and generally but not always cannot be used with a mechanical stylus or a gloved hand.

Try doing a "Wipe cache partition" Power off your Samsung Galaxy S5 by long pressing the Power On/ Off button. Wait until the device is completely shut down. Now you have to press the following keys at the same time to turn on the phone again: Power On / Off Volume up Home button If the Samsung Galaxy S5 vibrates once, release the power on/ off button, but keep the other two keys from the key combination pressed until a menu appears on the display. Verizon does not lock 4G LTE devices, and no code is needed to program them for use with another carrier. However “unlocking” a device will not necessarily make a device interoperable with other networks – a device designed for one network is not made technologically compatible with another network merely by “unlocking” it.  Additionally, unlocking a device may enable some functionality of the device but not all, an unlocked device may support voice services but not data services when activated on a different network). This S5 will not operate on the T mobile GSM system as normal.    sorry , Galaxy Class

The S5 is rated IP67 certified - dust and water resistant - Water resistant up to 1 meter and 30 minutes with no temp specs per say given. However most any smartphone on the market today will operate over a fairly wide range of temperatures that would be suitable for humans over a short given period of time. The phones are to a point self-surviving because of sensors that are built in both for high and low temp, voltage cut-off, thermal run away and many other considerations. Before fail points can be reach the screen will go dark or the phone will shut down and these are but a small example. Samsung Galaxy S5 full specs
