xfinity mobile plan

I am a 20 year Verizon customer, yet have been looking at the Xfinity Mobile plan. At about 1/3 the cost of Verizon, Xfinity will provide 50% more data and $200 rebate per new phone. Any reason I shouldn't be making the switch?

You wouldn't really be switching, they use Verizon's network. You know why it's cheaper? You're getting lower priority. The order goes VZW > VZW prepaid > smaller carriers leasing Verizon's network

Exactly. Currently, with my Verizon service, many of my calls and data are routed through wifi (either at home, through Xfinity's network of hotspots, or other open wifi access). On the Xfinity plan, the same would be true. The only difference would potentially exist on the relatively small percentage of calls/data we make away from wifi access. Guess it's worth testing the impact, if any, of being on a "lower priority" status, whatever that means.

It's cheaper because Comcast is not having to build out a network. Also it should be noted that Verizon's network is i's back-up. it's primarily wi-fi first then mobile. Also it should be obvious you have to be an Xfinity customer and you can only BYOD iPhones right now. Otherwise you have to buy their phones. I also don't see how it's 1/3 cheaper than Verizon is you're comparing similar plans.

Ever heard of Project Fi? It's Google's similar solution that uses WiFi, Sprint and T-Mobile's network. It was cheap, but the "you get for what you paid for" saying rings true, I'd imagine Xfinity being the same.

When I had Project Fi, I had emergency calls only while my GF had 3 bars under Verizon. I'm on her plan this days because it's nice having a cell network that works. I'm also a Comcast customer and bought my own equipment because I don't want strangers tapping into it - that's what Comcast does if you lease their stuff and how they have hotspots everywhere.

And? What does Fi have to do with Xfinity? And yes I heard of Fi before it even came out because I keep up on this industry. By geh wasy Charter( Spectrum )is coming out with their own Xfinity like plan at the end of the month. I'm just telling you about the plan. You have to either buy phones form them or you an BYOD only IPhones right now. So if someone likes Android this plan isn't for them. Also as someone told you are lowest on priority so the first to get deprioritized when congestion is around. If you have wi-fi around not an issue because you'll use that anyway.

You never did explain how it's 1/3 the price when the line are $45 each last time I checked

Currently I have 3 phones on Verizon sharing  2 GB data. That's $95. With Xfinity, you can start out with 1GB per line at $12 or $45 per line for unlimited data. 3 phones sharing 3 GB data on Xfinity will therefore be $36. That's 50% more data at a 60% savings. And BYOD for Android phones is not possible at this time, but when it is.......

of course Comcast didn't have to pay for the spectrum or the towers or the upkeep of the network.

Also you're telling me you can have 3 lines use 3 GB and that the same price as 1 line with 3 GB? So why not add 100 lines then?
