Can Verizon do any better?

I recently purchased an LG G6 from Verizon on an upgrade. Been with Verizon for well over 5 years not to forget also a customer of LL Verizon previously for well over 7 years. I dropped my new phone and it was driven over after two days of purchasing it. I called Verizon to see if there is anything they can do. They directed me to the insurance site to get a "like new" replacement. My gripe is, I had it for only two days. I would think Verizon would at least let me get a new one switched. I do understand it is not their fault but I mean come on now. How much does Verizon need. I don't make much money and it's hard to come up with the $150.00 I have to pay for one that's not even new anymore. I only bought the phone because it was only $20.00 more a month. I am writing to corporate and see if anything there happens, but really will be definitely looking into buyouts from others if I am not happy anymore. Just sux. TWO DAYS! Do something!

Did you read your agreement?

You are responsible for the device. It is yours.

If you bought a TV from BestBuy and dropped it while hanging it on your wall would you expect BestBuy to replace the TV?

Why would you thing Verizon should replace your phone? You broke it.

BOBEPAINTER We value keeping you as a customer and would hate to lose you. We know how important it is to have a good working phone. I’m sorry this happened to you. I’m glad to know that your phone is protected. We would recommend taking advantage of your insurance protection. Keep in mind that we will always make sure that you have a good working phone. Your LG G6 has physical damage, and the only solution is to replace the phone. Please visit our Equipment protection FAQs page http://vz.to/2vSGMV3 for additional information.

I never understand questions like this.

First.  Most every buy you can get, is going to require that you turn in your phone that needs to be paid off in good working condition.  So good luck with that.

Second.  You say you have been a customer with Verizon for 7 years so they should owe you a phone.  Please go to the gas station and ask for a free tank of gas because I would assume you have been buying gas for a very long time, or go to the grocery store and ask for a free bag of groceries and see what they say.  Or [removed] don't pay your electric bill for a month and see if they offer a free months of service since you have latterly been paying electric bill your whole life.

Verizon doesn't OWE you a phone. If you're eligible, you take advantage of sales but you aren't entitled to a phone for free from Verizon.

You are free to obtain a compatible device from practically anywhere. As the customer you are responsible for providing your own device. In the past, the only way you could do that was getting it directly from the carrier. That has not been the case for a long time. Consumers are just becoming aware of this now.
