Been that way for quite a while.  I'm a new customer to Verizon and with my nexus 6p I receive 3g only with great signal.   I have had a Verizon phone through my employer (Galaxy S5 on Verizon) for a few years now and it has had the same problem at that location only.  Anywhere in madawaska will result in only 3g data.
