How do I turn off the information provided before listening to voicemail?

When you hear your voicemail you get all the gory details of who left it, duration, etc.  BEFORE the actual message begins.  Reverse that.  Let he person hear the message first then they can either delete the messge and go on to the next or stay on that message to hear the details.  Verizon does not think about how peiople actually use voicemail.  The way it is now it takes waaaay to long to get through multiple voicemails.

If you have a smartphone you can get Visual Voicemail for free and it will allow to you just listen to you vm without having to dial in to an antiquated system.

Go into your voicemail setup options (Administrative options/personal options) and turn OFF envelope information.  It will no longer play for each message.

If you DO want to hear it for a specific message, just press "5" during playback and you can hear the details.
