Want an answer. Where is Verizon forcing you to upgrade? They said they will not allow subsidization under the old terms and conditions. It's up to you to stick to the old terms and conditions or not. You can choose to being your own device which works on the 700 spectrum.  If you want the cheaper pricing that the carrier will subsidize then you willingly accept the new terms without unlimited data.
