You've been given a solution. You signed a contract stating service is not available everywhere. In fact, the difference in signal is the change in season. In the Fall and Winter, you will always see better coverage because you don't have to worry about foliage. Yes, foliage is a huge issue. That said, when the Fall and Winter come again, you will have that one bar of service you initially had. Until then, you're out of luck unless you find service elsewhere. Why should Verizon be penalized because you chose to sign a contract knowing you only had marginal coverage? (Yes, one bar is considered marginal.)
