Cannot activate prepaid plan.

I have been trying for 4 hours to add airtime to my prepaid plan that I set up at Best Buy this afternoon. The *611 number say technical difficulties. If I'd have known that there is no phone support whatsoever I would have never signed up with Verizon. Can someone point me to a phone number where someone will answer the phone if you don't already have an account?
