Viber on Verizon

My daughter is leaving for Europe in a few days and recently downloaded the app Viber. The app claims to be free of charges but requires 3g or wifi. If she has unlimited 3g data, will she still be charged by Verizon for making calls or texts through the app since they are international?

Hi, yes anything she does over 3G or cellular data will be charged. It's usually about 20.48/MB but can vary depending on the specific location. She can add a 100mb/25$ feature to her line or only use data over wifi to avoid charges.  If this is her first trip overseas, she might want to call customer service to make sure she has everything set up on her account to use the phone, and to confirm she has a global phone. Hope she has a nice trip.

Hi Donna12345,

Great information! You can also use the online Global Wizard  http://bit.ly/xZd3pS to make sure you have the correct features for any trip outside of the United States. Have a great day.

Thanks,
Pamela F.
