They are not adding this charge to current customers...but when you upgrade your phone or change plans you're done. And dont let anyone tell you that you NEED this data plan to make your phone work. That is a 100% lie, and I have two "multimedia" phones in my hand with data blocked to prove it.

You CAN fight this though. I had a conversation with a rep who called me direct after I entered poor results on a phone survey and he said Tech Support has the option to remove it. I will soon find out if he was telling the truth, but he promised the notes were documented in my account. If it fails, and my bill goes up yet again, I will be moving to Sprint to get more bang for the same high buck.
