I purchased the basic plan (450 minutes) with 250 text msgs for an extra $5. Friends of mine said that this would be plenty, as 3/4 of all my friends are Verizon customers, and that texts between two Verizon users were free.

However I logged on today after two days of using my phone for texting, and it says my account usage has 57 recorded texts used so far of the 250 limit. Almost all of them are to my Verizon friends.

Did I select the wrong plan perhaps, or was I mistaken that texts to and from between Verizon users were free?
