can you not add a device upgrade to next bill?

beginning of the year I upgraded my phone with another upgrade eligible device that's on my plan and I had it added to my bill....  now my phone is eligible and I want to just add it to my next months bill and it's not giving me this option in the checkout.  has Verizon stopped allowing this?

If you are upgrading via contract, you'll have to go in-store.  Contracts are no longer offered online to current customers and contracts are not offered at all to new customers.
