I have had similar problems with my Incredible overheating, rebooting, deleting and force closing apps....  I finally went to Verizon today and they had no tech support at all.  So much for going in person to get help.  They put me on the phone with Customer Service who only told me this sounds like a Google problem, but they could help me factory reset.  Then we got cut off...

I was so upset that I ordered a new one since mine was still under warranty and there seemed to be no one there willing to help me sleuth out my problems.

My new one comes in a day or two.  I have factory reset my old one and it still overheats within about 30 minutes of use even with only the original settings.  I am so hopeful that my new one solves my problem as it did for you.  They seemed more than happy to replace at the store, possibly because of the frequency of complaints??  Not sure, but my fingers are crossed....
