I wonder if this is solved in any of the updates?  I'd hook it up to the computer and use the BB Desktop Manager to do a backup and check for application updates, see if there's any OS updates from VZW.

Otherwise, I'd just wipe the OS off the thing and re-install, just to take care of any glitches that may have corrupted something.
